The My Health My Hospital Campaign Cabinet is composed of local community leaders who will oversee, promote and help raise funds for the Campaign. The Cabinet consists of 15 Divisions including Financial Institutions, Corporations, Foundations, Community, Education, Restaurants, Real Estate, Home Builder, Communications, Lakeridge Health Oshawa Family, Insurance Companies, Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail Services and Professionals, all working together with their Committees, each consisting of 4-6 volunteers, to raise funds for the redevelopment and expansion of Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
Campaign Goal: $50 million—The largest fundraising initiative in the history of The Oshawa Hospital Foundation.
In the last four years, we have seen a 25% increase in our aging population along with a 12% increase in the total population of our Region. New facilities are needed to continue to provide excellent healthcare to the residents of our extended community. Funds raised through the My Health My Hospital means that units within the Hospital and Cancer Centre will be updated with more efficient facilities and modern technologies. The coordination of care for patients will be improved by the integration of outpatient and day services, access to care, service efficiency and patient flow through the new departments that will provide a better patient experience and support increased community needs.
Every dollar donated helps us distinguish between providing good healthcare and excellent healthcare. Reaching our Campaign goal of $50 million will:
- Expand and improve our existing infrastructure to accommodate the increasing growth in Durham’s population
- Retain medical professionals and specialists
- Offer available and accessible state-of-the-art medical equipment
- Broaden our scope by developing and delivering programs and services that support urban growth centres as well as reach rural communities to administer care closer to home
- Sustain additional surgical cases, emergency and ambulatory visits
